"Let's go try that new cafe next to Bodeans" I overheard a mum say today... which inspired me to pop in before Arthur's 8 week check-up.
I arrived late afternoon, so grabbed a coffee and a healthy snack bar (motivated by my attempt to shift the baby pounds). Ian was there, the owner, who gave me a warm welcome and was patient and nice to me as I quizzed him on his plans!!!
This lovely little cafe, come restaurant, is relaxed, friendly and convenient.
They span from take-away coffee and pastries (perfect pre-jumping on the W7), to light lunches, to yummy dinners and drinks.
The menu looks great, with the option of trying different accompaniments to meals - offering sides and toppings separately to a main dish, which particularly excited me when it came to the salad menu... I can not wait to try the courgette, feta and pea salad with some chicken added on top!
The coffee was lovely and the staff were friendly and attentive... overall the vibe was relaxed and I felt no pressure to clear off.
They currently open from 8am to last orders at 9.30pm, but plan to open earlier (7am) once they're fully up and running. They are open all week, but close at 5pm Sunday.
There's all the bits you'd hope for - wifi, baby changing, a range of cakes and coffees - and I love the branding... bright, positive and simple, which they have continued with their launch decor - a lovely bunch of sunflowers in the window, some pretty flowers throughout on tables and some charming bits and bobs on display as you walk in... I am excited to see how this place grows and develops. I have no doubt it is going to be a hit and super popular up here in Muswell Hill.
