Illustrating for Fig & Bloom
I came across Fig & Bloom last year, after picking up one of their leaflets... I remember being really interested in what they were all about. I then heard about them again when Sorting Self were running a Nutritional talk with them, to learn how food can help you look younger and more radiant... who wouldn't be interested in that!
So when Caroline suggested a coffee, I jumped at the chance! I loved meeting her (and her little one) and getting to know a little more about Fig & Bloom...
Founded by a Chef and a Registered Nutritional Therapist, combining their expertise to create healthy recipes, which are then taught at local group workshops, at home mini-workshops or as private consultations. They believe healthy eating should be accessible to everyone, so have created sessions which are affordable, relaxed and relevant to your lifestyle.
They are passionate about helping "others improve their health and wellbeing and teach how to prepare freshly-made, colourful and nutrient rich meals". They focus on areas like "pregnancy and postnatal detox, weight loss, skin and beauty, energy boost, digestive health and hormonal balance".
The ladies at Fig & Bloom were looking to re-illustrate the fig in their logo and asked if I'd like to help... what a lovely job! A watercolour painting of figs! Yes please.
We explored different styles, compositions and options and the ladies selected the now finalised fig. They were lovely to work with and the project was really enjoyable, sipping lots of tea whilst painting and drawing... bliss.
Take a look here for more information on this lovely little company and keep an eye out for local events (they're also worth a follow onFacebook, Instagram and Twitter for regular recipe and workshop updates - just click on the links).
Now I'm off to make myself a fresh and healthy lunch... ideally with some goats cheese and some figs!
Thanks all xxx
