Waterlow Park Highgate

This park means a ton to me. My now husband and I lived opposite Waterlow Park about 5 and a bityears ago and would walk here most weekends.

We later went on to walk around the park before our pregnancy scans and then our little lad was born right next door at the Whittington Hospital!

I don't come here enough anymore, so I decided to walk through on route home from a day out.

We had a play in the two parks, walked around the ponds, and then went and hid in one of the hedged-off areas, around the side... Albert and I sitting alone in our own little area.

We strolled up the hill, through the trees, and found their community Kitchen gardens. A lovely little place where local schools and groups have planted vegetables, herbs and cutting flowers... Inspired by one of the parks old purposes, to grow food for Sydney Waterlow's household.

They've created this lovely space to bring local people together and inspire others to enjoy their own "productive gardening".

Lovely idea and beautiful, tranquil space to hide away.
