The Bull, Highgate
One thing I think's a bit of a shame about Muswell Hill is there aren't a bunch of traditional pubs.
But then if there were, we wouldn't be encouraged to do our lovely walk through Muswell Hill, Highgate Woods, the back streets of Highgate and then up to North Hill Road...
There's a nice run of boozers on this road; The Red Lion and Sun (one of my absolute favourites), The Wrestlers, The Bull and The Victoria.
On the weekend we strolled to The Bull. This seems to have been our first choice on a few occasions over the past year - in the spring / summer we've enjoyed sitting out the front with a bowl of breaded chicken and blue cheese dip (yum!) and, on colder days, a more traditional pub meal inside with all the decorative plants!
The beer menu is probably the longest in the area, The Bull naming itself a BrewPub, with a small microbrewery!
The food has never been a disappointment and the walk back takes away the guilt of scoffing one of their delicious dishes.
